Anime Review: Ao Oni: The Animation (Fall 2016)

I've finish Ao Oni: The Animation back in January and this is going to be a small review because unfortunally this is basically a 4 minute episodes comedy / horror anime about a group of 4 people and ways to died. Basically it's Kenny from South Park but on Anime and they all died. Each one in an horrible way. This is linked with a movie called Ao Oni The Animation (Movie) which I also saw and it sucks even more than the anime tv series. The animation is awful, the special effect is awful the plot is kind of cool but then the actual coverage and such was a pain. One of the worst animes I've saw... Coming from Studio Deen I can't really say why it sucks...

Studio Deen are the maker of an all favourite Konosuba and also under their belts Fate/Zero, Sankarea, Sakamoto desu ga?, Rurouni Kenshin or even Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu.

So probably they were trying to do something and it fail... terrible. Synopsis

In most ordinary high schools, many stories and rumors float around—some scandalous, some happy and some...more macabre. One such example is of monsters lurking in an abandoned mansion outside of town. Such tales, however, prove too tempting to resist for Hiroshi and his friends Mika, Takeshi, and Takurou. They decide to brave the rumored dangers in order to investigate the manor and complete a test of courage. Each of them approaches the mansion with an overwhelming sense of dread. And when they enter, they come upon a blue monster named Ao Oni who attacks them.

As Hiroshi and his friends try to solve the various puzzles in the mansion and escape their new blue nemesis, they find themselves meeting several horrible endings as they fail miserably.

OMG. Why did I start watching it? With 5m episodes I start watching, then in the middle start moaning and by the end I think I was skip it forward so I can see if it had an ending... It had not.

Since it is based on a game probably people who play it like it BUT for the love of the gods... AWFUL.

The only "good" thing it felt like a videogame (visual novel?)  - I think probably for people who play the game it is a acceptable one... But for ME If there was a contest for the worst anime, probably this will be it. Why didn't I quit? Well if I start watching an anime I try to finish UNLESS it is 20 plus minute anime. In that case I will give up after two or three episodes.

Anime Review: Planetarian: The Dream of Small Star ( Summer 2016)

Planetarian is an 18 minutes 5 episode anime which is set in the near future after humanity as become nearly extinct. Is set in a catacomb city basically. A man enters a planetarian escaping some robots. He actives the planetarium and a girl comes into light. A girl no, a robot-girl. This girl robot is totally oblivious to what is happening out there since her database are not update for about 30 years. She basically treats him as a costumer and shows him some videos and stories. In the beginning the man don't treat her well but as the time progresses he helps her.

What to expect from it? Well not much. It's beautiful and in the end you will get some water in your eyes but I bet that one day later you will forget it. It's truly sad story but unfortunately due to the length of it you will not feel so connect to it that after a day or two you no longer remember.

Anime Review: Nazotokine (Fall 2016)

Tokine Amino works as a secretary for TEN2, an advertising agency. One day while cleaning the conference room, she is surrounded in light and finds she can't leave the room until she solves a puzzle.

It seems a creature named Hacchin, a being from another dimension called Quizn. He is interested in the intellectual pleasure that happens when someone solves a puzzles or uncovers a mystery. And he has his sight set on Tokine Amino.

I am sorry but I cannot fully understand this story. Basically you've got a rabbit/pig funny little white thing that transports a young girl (giving her VERY interesting clothes that apparently unconsciously she designs ) so she can solve mysteries. Most of these mysteries are kind of hard for non-Japanese people but there were a couple of them which even I could understand. But our main characters always fail (first) and then answers correctly. Then she has an orgasm and a crystal appears. Yes she has an orgasm of some sorts. WTF? Fan service! CHECK!

spoiler... it wasn't! it was hers....
The reason for all that is so far-fetch to be believable and then in the last couple two or three episodes a new threat appears But is so anticlimactic  that made me cringe my teeth.

There is some non-puzzling solving thing there but it's so unnecessary that made me wonder why do it.  Worth watching? Nope! Not a chance.

This anime was made by Tengu Kobo and this is the first anime. There is going to have a sequel. Hurrah!

Anime Review: Okusama ga Seitokaichou! (Summer 2015 & Fall 2016)

This is going to be two reviews instead of one, basically because this is the season 2 and I watch them both. So we've got 24 episodes divided in two series with 8m per episode.

If you are looking for some funny ecchi situations with mild nudity then you've come to the right place.
We've got this guy called Hayato Izumi who is running for class president and lost Ui Wakana. Then he discovers that he is married with her because both their parents were drunked and made a arranged marriage situation.

From this moment on, throughout the 24 episodes we deal with situations of awkward love/ecchi situations. There isn't actually sex and in doesn't turn into hentai (whereas I Think it should).

Meanwhile we also learn about Rin Misumi who is in the disciplinary committee and tries to separate both Hayato & Ui - first because they are going against regulations and then because she develops feelings for her. In a couple of episodes we've watch something akin to hentai (groping breasts mainly) but that's it. I think a season 3 is in order but I don't know if it is going to happen.

This anime was made Seven who is also the creators of "I Can't Understand What My Husband Is Saying" and is coming Souryo to Majiwaru Shikiyoku no Yoru ni... which will be in the same vein of the above. Seven basically makes 3m to 10m episodes of anime.

What I wanted to say, don't expect much unless you want to see ecchi mix with nudity but no hentai and someone awkward situations. It's what it's called Ecchi done correctly.

Review Analysis... Comparing This anime with Death Note or some other uber-rated anime is almost pointless. It's like comparing a ford from 1906 with a ferrari from nowadays. The only think they have in common is that they both are cars and run on oils.
So the rating of this anime is valuable within these kind of animes...

There are animes to think and ponder and that mark you and then there are funny witty animes to pass the time. They are both good  but each in its own away. So the rating of this anime and other smaller animes is rather well, since I don't have a better word - odd.

Anime Review: Keijo!!!!!!!! (Fall 2016)

For those who play Dead or Alive Xtreme3 - this is not but probably one is based on another....
Well this is a sports anime. Sports anime with Boobs and Asses. Basically several girls go into a pool on top of plastic isle. Then each girl must throw overboard the other girl with their asses or boobs.

I mean talking about it it sounds awful right?
After all for a series that is basically that it has a score o 7.44 with 115,571 Members

But it isn't all that bad. Basically the 13 episode is about a couple of girls trying to find out the best way, tactics and such about it. The authors really thought about this through (the best they could). They made up tactics and each girl "personality" adaptated to that particular tactic(s). Like fast girls who use their speed to sneak up. Others are brute force and others are a mix. They mainly use their asses but there is also the ones who use boobs AND a some use their feminine "arts" to defeat their opponent.  There are special moves.... machine gun but missiles or supersonic hip swings (that could damage you forever) or even Vacuum Cannon. It's so strong that can destroy the opponents cloth.

Keijo is a shounen-action/comedy series. There isn't a single guy in it and there isn't kind of romance. It has fan service, after all girls are hitting one another with their asses and boobs (and in all honestly it can't live witohut it BUT not in the same as other fan service where it exists to excit the viewers).

The art and animation are quite good, after all it's an action/sports anime and the girls are well portrayed.

This anime proofs that Japan do what Japan does best. Innovate and thinking out of the box.

Watch it. Don't expect a deep anime. Don't expect the best characteer or sound anime. But expect something different that uses fan-services with purpose. Expect something new coming out from Japan.

The creators are Xebec which made To LOVE-Ru, Pandora Hearts or Love Hina. Or the remake of one of my favourite "Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2199"

Anime Review: Hitori no Shita: The Outcast (Summer 2016)

This anime is one of those animes I've said it felt bland and poor. I remember watching the first two episodes before dropping out. The same happened with a lot of animes but then I start watching again and try to finish it... and I did.

This anime is South Korea and not Japanese. The company only has two animes under their belts. The other one is Bloodivores. Both were not that well receive.

Basically you've got this MC (main character) who returns to his home town and he is attacked by some zombies and then he is saved by a young girl named BaoBao. From this moment on, each episode is Chulan our MC) trying to uncover what's happening and why people are attacking him.  If in the first 7/8 episodes it seems Chulan is our MC I think in the end it changes to  Baobao. She is the only interesting part of this anime.

The fights are good. Each individual uses some sort of Special powers (Kii) and it's kind of fine. But unfortunately this anime fails in terms of story and character design (as I said besides Baobao).

I think the creators tried to hard to make an anime based on different fighting styles (some rather fictions) but then felt so flat that it sucked. I also think they had planned to make a season 2 and so the ending is not an ending but rather a intermission to the main "battle" or story. I really dislike this. One thing is having a open-ending so they can return. Other thing is not having a ending at all because they wanna return.  If they do return I am not going to watch it.

TV Series: Hammer House of Horror (1980)

You all know I enjoy horror stories. You all know (or should know) I enjoy "bad" endings. Usually I don't hope for the good guys to win... (in movies at least) and one of my goals where to watch not only the Kaiju Movies but also Hammer Horror movies... So, this was the way to start... I watch Hammer house of horror

Basically it's small movies. They are not connected in any way besides most actors here have been in some way on their movies. This series had only one season back in 1980 (my year of birth...) don't know why since it felt it was a good anthology. Maybe it isn't cost/profit viable.

Nevertheless advisable. Some stories could be made into a full time movie and others could have been made in 30. That's my only complain. Some felt rush and some felt it missed something.

"Witching Time"
This first tale is about a witch that is striking horror into the occupants of an old farmhouse. Very interesting and with an evil ending.

"The Thirteenth Reunion"
There is a cradle of filth music that says... For Beauty is always Cruel. Well this is something like that mixed with other stuff. A reporter is investigating some strange deaths in an health farm. Another evil ending. I won't say that bad ending because you would think I didn't enjoy it...

"Rude Awakening"
This tale is about a man who dreams about killing his own wife (no, he actually dreams that). And every time the dreaming is different but always involves a strange House and a secretary. This is  more a of a psychological terror.

"Growing Pains"
Well this tale is kind of a odd. A boy died and so a couple adopt a new boy. But then nothing is quite like their own son. The research is also very important here.

"The House that Bled to Death"
This story is quite interesting in terms of physiological horror. Some horror accident happened in that house and now new inhabitants appear. Unfortunately a cat died :(

"Charlie Boy"
This was very strange story about an African idol and making Makumba/Vooddo a real deal. Interesting story with a good (not in a happy way) finale.

"Children of the Full Moon"
This is a very interesting story about lycanthropes. I really enjoy the first part of the story but didn't enjoy the second half and finale. Simple story.

"Carpathian Eagle"
This is possible one of the best stories. Based on Erzebeth Bathory and a remote kin and killing starting to happen. I already knew the ending but nevertheless it was a good story. Really enjoy about the hunts.

"Visitor from the Grave"
This was probably the most psychological tales of them all. A woman starts seeing stuff and think she is crazy. Really interesting ending.

"The Two Faces Of Evil"
This was some crazy bat shit... (Guano, right?)
A family gives a lift to a sinister hitch hiker and after he attacks the driver they crash. The husband (the one driving) was very hurt and the hiker died. As the episode progress the wife starts wondering what happened and which is which. Interesting tale... but one that you've seen it coming right from the start.

"The Mark of Satan"
This is probably one of the best episodes of the series. A mortuary man becomes convinced that a conspiracy of evil is afoot. He starts seeing the same number everywhere. Nobody believes him. But is it true or is it all on his mind?

Anime Review: Fuuka (Winter 2017)

Fuuka was a really interesting show. Another highlight in my book. Unfortunally it didn't fare that well in Myanimelist with only a score of 6.90 with 82K members.

Synopsis
Yuu Haruna just moved into town and loves to use Twitter. Out on his way to buy dinner, he bumps into a mysterious girl, Fuuka Akitsuki, who breaks his phone thinking he was trying to take a picture of her panties. How will his new life change now?

I am going to say upfront that I really enjoy so much the first four or five episodes that I try to read the manga. I was so well impressed

by it and it almost ruined the show for me... (I will say what later on).

The anime basically follows the synopsis I just put up there. Then as he go to the new school he learns that blue hair girl is from her class. He goes to the roof to tweet about his new school and yet again he is caught taking her picture (by mistake) and yet again she breaks her phone. Second phone in two days.

From that moment on, and due to his awkward way she befriends him. Fuuka is energetic girl, very easy going and friendly.

Yuu Haruna very fast befriends her and learns that she really likes hearing music particular from a young artist called Koyuki Hinashi.

She then confesses that she is missing something in her life where he ask her why not singing and forming a band. Due to her personality she grabs Yuu to learn the base, Mikasa (her homosexual friend who Yuu first thought to be her boyfriend) to play the keyboards, Nachi (who was currently trying to put Fuuka on the Track Field) and later Sara (the young sister of one of the players of their favorite band HEDGEHOG)

From that moment they start playing and learn to exist as a band. They also participate in a live concert where Hinashi appears to sing alongside Fuuka.

Then enters Hinashi who was a childhood friend of Yuu (he calls Tama-Chan and she calls him Nico-Kun) and a love interest develops. First Yuu is drawn to her and she reveals in life broadcast that every music she made was dedicated of her love to him. This makes Fuuka apprehensive since she learns that he loves him and so she leaves the band and soon afterwards everyone follows their own path.

Yuu is distress and makes a song to everyone to listen and they quickly return with Fuuka exception because she still believes Yuu is in love with Tama - then Tama-chan tells Fuuka that indeed she loves him but he loves Fuuka. Fuuka then returns to the band and sings his song and is a success. In the end we see them together, in love and promising to be together forever.

This is a small review there are a lot more than this...

ANIME VS MANGA
Well, spoilers, everything before was spoilers but this is more... In the manga after their first show where Fuuka sings with Hinashi, Fuuka is hit by a truck and dies.

Also that love triangle present in the anime don't exist in the manga.

Many people where upset by this changes. I for once I enjoy it. I like "bad" endings. I like sad stuff that make me think and cry. I like to be move. I think they knew this wasn't going to have a sequel and so they changed it OR they thought about this since the beginning. I don't know and I don't care.

Althought Fuuka is a really great gal (if she existed in reality) Tama chan don't stay behind. She is in love with Nico(Yuu) since the beginning and could have fought for him but instead he gives him to Fuuka. That's love! People like that almost doesn't exist.

OPINION
I really enjoy the music on this anime. I really anjoy the characters and I was very in doubt on which team I was... Fuuka or Tama-chan. I really couldn't decided until the end.

There is some fan service but nothing I would consider "Ecchi" but in Myanimelist they put it there. In the first episode we see Fuuka panties. We see her taking a bath with Tama-chan (nothing is shown). I don't know if this is free ecchi. Maybe it is. Nevertheless it exists.

I really enjoy the series but reading the manga spoilt and made me wanna stop the series because I was shipping Fuuka with Yuu. But then the anime throw a curve ball at us.

Anime Review: Demi-Chan Kataritai (Winter 2017)

$
0

Sakie, Yuki, Machi, Hikari, Tetsuo & Himari
Well I just finish the the twelfth episode and I must say it was a very good entertaining series. I really hope for a season 2.

#Synopsis#
The story takes place in an age where "Ajin" (demi-human), more casually known as "Demi," have slowly started to become accepted into human society. Tetsuo Takahashi is a biology teacher who ends up teaching three such Demi, hoping to understand more about them while also managing to catch their attention.

In the series some being (Ajins or Demi) start to appear (or being born) from humans (Kyouko has humans parents and same goes with Hikari who has a twin "normal" sister). Vampires, Succubus, Dulhahans, Snow women and so on. They really don't talk outside our four female demi-chans. It would be cool to learn more about other types of demis (or Ajins).

There is a reason why this anime has some high rating of 7.85 with almost 90K members. It was made by one of the most famous anime studios called A-1 Pictures. They are the ones who made Shigatsu Wa Kimi no Uso, Boku Dake, Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai, Uchuu Kyoudai, Sword Art Online, Fairy Tail or even one my favourite animes Grimgar.

Why this series are so interesting?
Well. First of all it takes the Harem formula but gives it a twist. There is indeed a harem but not a romantic one (not counting with Sakie which likes him). There is some ecchi BUT only with Sakie since she is a Succubus. There are a couple of other episodes where Hikari touches Machi but I think it's to loosen her up.

This show is indeed about characters and that's where it shines. It grabs the discrimination/minorities and "plays" around with the demis being new to society. There is an episode where a couple of their colleges are talking and saying that they discriminate by saying they are "demis" and not humans.

Indeed this can be a slice of life. There are cute girls, pleasing visuals, no particular plot  and this could be seen as another boring slice of life. But in here we've got also likable characters, comedy and great social introspection.

Characters
Tetuso Takahashi is a biology teacher who is fascinated by the demis. He helps each one of them to better understand oneself and at the same time study their conditions and some myths.

Yuki-Kusakabe she is a snow woman. She endures a transformation like no other demi. In the beginning of the series she dislikes telling people she is a demi and fearful of her "powers" could do to others. Tetsuo helps her understand how her "body" works.

Kyouko Machi. She is a Dullahan. Basically her body and head are not attached. Go read Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washigton Irving. Throughout the series we learn more about her folklore and status with Tetsuo. There is a interesting episode where she goes to the university to be a Tsetuo friend that talks about the physics and other technical terms to better understand how can she eat or drink and the food go to her stomach since there isn't a physical connection. As she is the smartest girl in school she is fascinated and probably that was Tetsuo intention. She has a crush on Tetsuo.

We've got Hikari Takanashi. She is a vampire and the first one to recurred to Tetsuo. We learn that she avoids biting people necks instead drinking blood sent by the government and drinking tomato juice. She also likes to put her fangs (nibbles) into her twin sister and other people. There is an episode where we the all gang tastes her arms and evaluates their "tastiness" score. She is also easy-going and likes to help people around her. She also confronts people who dislike demi (or other people). In the first episodes she is the link for her new-friends and Tetsuo. They have a great relationship student/sensei or even friend/friend.

Himari Takanashi is a human, no special ability. She is rarely seen on the show but I think they could focus on her more as well. She is the twin sister of Hikari and in all episodes she acts like a protector and almost a "mother" to her.

Then we've got Sakie Satou. She is a Succubus and a math teacher. She is aware of her "powers" and so she constantly take precautions to avoid seducing her male students making herself looking dull. If a person touches her they become aroused. Se accidentally touches Tetsuo that pretends not to be affected which makes her have a crush on Tetsuo. There is an interesting episode where we follow Sakie throughout her day. Then by the end episodes we learn more of her abilities. In the second-to-last episode she invites Tetsuo to drink in a video  and then personally. He never says yes. In the last episode we see her in a bathing suit and again Tetsuo controls himself.

I think the series has a possibility of a second season, although I understand they stay with only one season. After all it's a great season and one of the best in Winter 2017 but unless they bring a new cast of characters there isn't really a point continuing. The girls learn about themselves and the only thing that stay untold was Sakie love for Tetsuo. Did it come true or not?

Anime Review: Masamune-kun no Revenge (Winter 2017)

$

This was one of those animes I was looking forward and in the end I felt disappointed. But at least it mind get a sequel (in the end there is a hint for that BUT I don't know if this anime sold a lot or no).

The series was made by Silver Link. It's a company that mostly do Slice of Life animes mix with School and Comedy. Well look some of the five top ranking (and members) of them.

* Non Non Biyori Repeat (Comedy, School, Seinen, Slice of Life) ;
* Kokoro Connect: Michi Random (Comedy, Drama, Romance, School, Slice of Life, Supernatural)
* Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge (Slice of Life, Comedy, School)
* Kokoro Connect (Slice of Life, Comedy, Supernatural, Drama, Romance, School)
* Watashi ga Motenai no wa Dou Kangaetemo Omaera ga Warui! (Slice of Life, Comedy, School, Shounen)

Synopsis
As a child, Masamune Makabe once suffered greatly at the hands of a wealthy and beautiful girl named Aki Adagaki, who nicknamed him "Piggy" due to his chubby appearance. Seeking revenge against his tormentor, Masamune works hard to improve himself and returns as an incredibly handsome, albeit narcissistic, high school student. When he encounters Aki once again, he is prepared to exact vengeance.

With the aid of the rich girl's maid, Yoshino Koiwai, Masamune slowly begins to build his relationship with Aki, intending to break her heart when the time is right. However, as his friendship with Aki begins to grow, Masamune starts to question the objectives of his devious plans, and if bringing them to fruition is what his heart truly desires.

Opinion
Well, basically is what the synopsis says. Masamune loved Aki (a rich girl) who turn him down and called him Piggy. He left broken and swore revenge so he turn himself on a man with muscles with the sole purpose of making Aki falling in love with him and then BANG! Dump her. Talk about a bad character. Of course this interest me a lot. In the beginning he start making some real good impressions on every girl and even Aki looks at him (although not with love but probably more disdain) after all she rejects every single man/boy she meets giving them horrible nicknames.

Then he receives a letter saying that she knows who he is - but it was not Aki but Koiwai (a servant girl) of Aki. She tells him that she will help me destroy Aki confidence. So each episode is filled with comedy and slowly building a relation between Masamune and Aki. He turns down both Fujinomiya (a beautiful rich girl who confesses his love to him) and the class president Tae Futaba - both very cute.

There is also a boy (who In the beginning I thought it was a girl called Sonoka Kaneko (he is mostly there to be treated as a girl or gay I don't know but he isn't).

In the last couple episodes enters another character (a boy called Kanetsugu Gasou) who tries to make Aki believe is Masamune (because his mother mistakes one with another) and that they have an arranged marriage. I think this was poorly made (because he just appear in the last two episodes) and probably is story should have been better told.

In the two last episodes they also have a competition of theater plays. Both Kanetsugu and Masamune are battling for Aki. The friends of Aki lock Masamune (who is running a fever) and Koiwai locks Kanetsugu. In the end Masamune is released and he tries to make her play kissing her in the end and she slaps punches him hard.

Then the last 15 minutes they all join together and sing in a karaoke. Both Masamune and Aki in the end sit in a park and Aki says she would do anything for him because he was the prince in the play. He ask for a kiss but instead she puts a muffin or something in his mouth (probably because Koiwai appear with her food). Didn't I tell you about her food disorder? She is skinnier than hell but its like a pig.

Well this is...

Thoughts
I was really upset of how they ended the show. Okay they should have ended with something more than a premise of a season 2 that might not even exist. After all the rankings are not the best... I think in the middle of the season, after an interesting premise it felt that the creators didn't know what to do to make people interested on this revenge so it's just fillers and fillers of nothing of particular interest. Masamune is so determined to chase that girl that make him burn that he negates every single other female character (even if they are prettier, sexier 2D girls). Aki is pretty but have no boobs, no ass no nothing. Is revenge so important?

It felt that this was a journey, and after all that is all that is important, to a climax that simple does not exist. I would give this a better higher score if there was a partial ending... A season two will come? If so I will watch it BUT I think it's not worth it...

The average score was 7.24 and I gave it a 5. Basically because in the end I felt that there should have been at least
Masamune, Sonoka Kaneko, Koiwai & Aki

Anime Review: Kiitarou Shounen no Youkai Enikki (Fall 2016)

$

Another 5m anime with 12 Episodes.
The synopsis is probably bigger than my review...

Synopsis
This is the visual diary of Kiitarou's experience with youkai. He's a boy with a very strong spirit sense, but when he entered a forbidden storehouse, he was kicked out of his home. He soon found a new place to live, where he met a zashiki warashi (house spirit) named Suzu. He and Suzu soon began to attract all kinds of spirit creatures, starting with a nurikabe (appears as a wall that impedes travelers) and mokumokuren (appears as eyes in a torn paper wall). What kind of folkloric creature will he meet next?

Opinion
What to say about this small anime that you can watch in one hour.
This is a funny anime about Youkai. You follow Kiitarou & Suzu (a house spirit). In each episode you've watch him interact with different Youkai and their relations between themselves and towards humans. Each episode is self-contain but very interesting.

Kitsunemen no Onna with her big breasts give us some fan-service toward the series (only a couple of episodes). In my opinion, unless that kind of youkai is prone to that, I think it was not needed.

The music (in the end per example) was a nice addition.

In the end I felt that this series could continue for 100 episodes if they want. After all there are a lot of different Youkai in Japanese Folklore.

If you have an hour, go for it.

Small Review for a small anime...

Some of the Bugs....
This anime is chibi-parody of Assassination Classroom. This is not the first. There is also one made to Attack on Titan& The Melancholy of Haruhi-chan Suzumiya. I have not yet watch Assassination Classroom so this anime was a bit odd... I didn't enjoy I must say... It was fun 10m 12 episode but that's it. It was comedy, some RPG jokes (most of the characters are cardboard rpg characters. A paladin, a Rogue, a Mage (not magic - science) and so on... What's interesting is that each character as a bug that makes it harder for them to achieve their goal. Kill the big bad. I don't know if it is a spoiler of some sorts, but it seem big bad was a bored human hero who turn himself to be the big evil bad guy.

Assassination Classroom is one of those animes on my playlist in the near future.
Watch it for something funny AND if you have seen the original. To me it was rather pointless.

Anime Review: Bikini Warriors (Summer 2015)

$

Let us start...

This anime was made by feel. . They are also the creators of several animes with Ecchi, nudity themes. This is the first I watch from them. But there are a couple of them that have good reviews... I can't judge a company because of ONE anime.

Synopsis
Damn those cutie dogs...
When darkness threatens the world, four heroes hold the only hope for salvation—if they can even manage to get out of the first town, that is. Bikini Warriors follows a party of beautiful adventu

rers in revealing armor: courageous Fighter, airheaded Paladin, timid Mage, and alluring Darkelf. But can you really be an adventurer if you don't get going on an adventure?

Our heroes are eternally broke, insufferably vain, and frequently outmatched by the dangers of their world. Between fleeing dungeons and robbing peasants, the unlikely heroes will have to learn to live with each other before they can survive a battle with ultimate evil!

Opinion
Well the synopsis will be probably bigger than my review. In this tale we follow four adventurers to help the kingdom. They Are Mage; Dark Elf; Paladin & Fighter.

damn mimic chest...
So what's interesting about it?  Each Episode is 4m full of fan service. There's not doubt about it. Unfortunately there's low nudity. Don't understand the Rating. OK they are always in their bikinis.

Each of the four characters have boobs bigger than their heads. The creators made every battle some sort of sexual fantasy. The worst of them is the Paladin always trying to sacrifice her virginity for the sake of the group. Everything she sees a problem she ask if she has to prostitute herself.

I must say the only redeeming quality is the art of the girls. The bouncing titties are good but since they are so big they it feels awkward. I must I was very disappointing with it. But since 12 episodes each 4/5m is not that bad.

Anime Review: Yami Shibai - Japanese Ghost Stories I through IV (Several Seasons)

Well, this Winter season I watch one of the episodes from the IV season. I thought it was a interesting little street theater anime and since each episode with barely 5m were self contained I thought of watching them.

There is a great difference between the four seasons. The last season is awful. I think I only enjoy one or two episodes.

Memorable ones from Season 1
The Next Floor;
Contradiction  (this reminds of a movie...);
Cursed is another very interesting tale that I would enjoy watching a full lenght movie. Basically a girl is cursed and try to "uncurse" with the help of a Shinto Priest but it seems it cannot... Very frightful
Video - Reminds me of a horror movie about a videotape (hmm Ring

Memorable ones from Season 2
Taro-chan - Another one that remind me of a movie... CHUCKIE!
Wall Woman - Voyeur it's terrible
Bugged

Memorable ones from Season 3 (This season focus a lot of monsters...not so frightful)
Lend It to Me - Awesome. Probably one of my favorite...
Rat
Museum of Taxidermy - Another movie hint guys?
Cuckoo Clock - Always wanted one from the Black Forest in Germany...
Drawings - This one connects with the credits on each episode from the third season series...

Memorable ones from Season 4 (worst one)
Grinding Teeth (probably the only one worth mentioning..)

Don't expect nothing fancy. This is barely anime at all. It's a cartoon made like the old times in the streets where theaters were make with fix backgrounds and only moving the characters or something like that. Nevertheless it's watchable...

This review is going to have a mix of them all... Since in MAL I gave
Season 1 - 5
Season 2 - 6
Season 3 - 4
Season 4 - 2

Anime Review: Long Riders (Fall 2016)

$

Long Riders is anime focusing on cycling and the enjoyment it is. It's a slice of life mixed with sports and a bit of comedy.

MAL thinks makes the tag word of Shounen. I don't agree. This anime is not be focus on Young Male but rather in Young Female. So it should be Shojo, maybe, no?

The stories focus on a young girl called Ami Kurata. She is a first year universty who buys a bike and tries to ride it. With the help of her friend Aoi and then new friends Yayoi & Hinako and then later an older Saki she stars to understand the joy of riding and the great difficulties it comes with having a bike.

This anime focus mainly on the sports (giving hints on how to ride and how to maintain a riding bicycle).

The main feeling I get fro this anime is the relaxing and tranquility that gave me. I know they are all girls but don't expect anything ecchi or something like that. There isn't any. They are girls who enjoy riding. No fanservice at all... unless you count on seeing on a biking clothes.

In terms of characters there are any interesting about them. The only one who grew was Ami. The rest - well; they exist and serve her purpose. Oh, they are all smilling... ALWAYS with the exception of our main character. One thing that bother me, two of the girls were very alike... (physical) in terms of mentality (well they were almost all the same...)

In terms of graphics, art and CGI it serves it's purpose. Nothing that transcends what's normal. In terms of Background and Vistas... that's where it shines. The views on the mountains and sea and so on are great.

This is a anime that focus on people who want to ride a bicycle or wants to get motivate to get into one. Unless you are one of those two groups I would skip it UNLESS you want something to fall asleep due to feeling it transmits...  Tranquility & Peace

This was an interesting month in terms of watching animes. Every three months a season ends so there is a lot of ending animes.

Movies (8 movies)
So I watch 8 movies.

Some I made a review and some are pending. Two of them were anime. Luger Code 1951 (a week anime movie of 24m). Almost worthless. It begged more time. And Akira. Probably one of the most famous animes back in 80's. One of those that propelled Anime to the outside Japan.

Series (22 Episodes)
I start watching (and finish) Walking Dead Season 1 and Season 2 (6+13 episodes).
I also start watching The 100 (2 episodes).

My objective is finishing season 3.

TV Series: Walking Dead Season 1, 2 & 3 (Long Review)

Warning! ---Heavy Spoilers--- Warning!

I am going to review the Walking Dead Season 1, 2 and 3.
I've watch Walking Dead season one back when It came out. But then something happened and I stop watching it. I don't remember what.

So what are my initial thoughts? This series is great in terms of Character development. They act like human beings and change a lot in the span of two seasons (We are talking in under 20 episodes (first season has 6 and the second has 13).

In terms of Pace it sucks a lot... There is a lot of drama but with little action. Okay I understand that this is series focusing on characters BUT there are time we need action.

Favourite characters
My favourite with no doubt is Daryln. He is an anti-hero like there aren't many that borders chaotic side.

Characters - Season 1,2 & 3
Maggie, Glenn, Daryl, Rick, Andrea, Sasha, Governor, Carol, (don't know who's that behind Carl, Tyresse (back), Beth, Michonne & Hershell...

Rick Grimes - Police Officer
Lory Grimes - Wife of Rick (Died by the hand of Carl after bloodloss of child birth)
Carl - Son of Rick
Judith - Daughter of Rick. Born in Season 3.

Shane - Police Officer

Morgan Jones - Help Rick. Wife is Jenny & Duane is the son.

Glenn - Korean
T-Dog - Never particular interesant character. Died in prison in season 3. Saved Carol
Dale - Van owner - Mercied by Daryl after being bitten by a zombie
Jacqui - Suicide in the end of season 1.
Jim - Suicide after being bitten

Carol
Sophia - Carol's daughter. Lost in season 2. Later found out that it was turn into a zombie. Mercied by Rick.
Ed husband - Abused Carol while alive. Killed by Zombies Season 1
Daryl
Merle - Killed by the Governor. Mercied by Daryl
Andrea - One of the most important characters between season 1 and 3. Suicide in the end of season 3 after being bitten by zombie.
Amy - Killed by Zombies. Mercied by Andrea

Hershel - Farm owner. Father of Beth and Maggie.
Beth - (17? - first one to take care of Judith)

Other people on the farm - Killed by zombie (including Jimmy; Patricia) Otis was killed by Shane.

Michonne - Katana Wielder girl

Several other people in the governor group - not that

West Georgia Correctional Facility
Axel & Oscar join the group but are both killed. One after saving Glenn and other after the Governor attack the prison.

Tyresse & Sasha (Brother and Sister)
Allen & Ben (Both killed

Season 1

Season 1 is very short season. There isn't that much to talk and my least favorite season. Rick wakes up and finds himself alone. He is helped by Morgan and his son. Afterwards he goes to Atlanta to find himself caught up by zombies. Glenn and his scavenger group saves him. Merle after being a "dick" is left alone chained in the roft. They return to the camp, outside Atlanta, just to find that Rick wife and son were there. Shane (Rick cop friend) has been being the leader and it seems screwing Lory. Lory now hate Shane because Shane lied saying that Rick had died.

Rick, after an initial confrontation with Daryln and feeling obligated about having left Merle there goes back to the city. They don't find him there having cut his own hand. Meanwhile Glenn is kidnapped by some mexican dudes and after an innitial confrontation it seems the mexicans were helping old people on a retirement home.
Andrea is force to kill a zombified sister...

After they return to the camp they are attacked by zombies and several people died Ed included; Carol's husband.

Then they leave to get to the CDC, where they hope to find a cure, just to find that there is none. After an initial help, the CDC is left without power and with it comes self destruction. Jacqui decides to died with the remaining doctor who says to Rick  that there is no cure and we all carry the disease and it doesn't matter that we die by bite or disease. They will turn.

Season 2
I will miss Dale - Sorry Brother
Season 2 is very focus on characters and there isn't that much happening. Basically Sofia loses himself in the woods and they start looking. Carl is shot by a man (by mistake) and they brought to a farm. While Rick stays in the Farm, Shane goes into the Town with Otis (the man who shot Carl) to bring stuff for surgery.

This season we see in great plan Shane changed to a bitter angry man. He wanted to take over Rick but after he returns he is put aside. In episode 4 or 5 he purposedly shots Otis so he can escape to safety. He turns into the main antagonist. Well, long story short it seems Hershel  (the farm owner) thinks that the undead are just sick so he keeps the undead in the farm. For almost half the season they are debating about Rick group staying or not.
Zombified Sofia

Andrea is another character rid with guilt and pain. First her sister died and turn (when the camp went overrun) and then when she tried to commit suicide by Dale coerce her not to do it. Meanwhile Daryln start being the right hand of Rick while at the same time struggling because of her brother.
Glenn start dating Maggie (Hershell daughter) and being Lori confident about her pregancy. T-bone is there. Carol suffers because of her daughter disapperence and then they find out that she was in the barn with "Hershell" zombies - Daryln help her building a relation with her (not romantic). Dale is the voice of the reason for the all groups.

Carl in season one and two is shown as a brat. He continually do stupid stuff putting people in jeopardy. The turning point is on season 2 (almost the last episode) while outside playing he watches a zombie but doesn't kill him running away. A zombie (the same one Carl couldn't kill), bits Dale. Daryln mercy Dale.

In the last episode Shane tries to kill Rick but instead is killed by Rick and as a zombie is killed by Carl. Then the zombies overrun the farm and they escape leaving Andrea stranded help by someone.

Season 3
Carl kills her Mom after she gives birth...
This season is the first 16 episode season and it's divided into two. We either follow Andrea (in the Woodbury town) with the Governor & Michonne and the other part is set on a prison as the Atalanta group discovers and tries to take over a prison after their continuous run for several months.

Sincerely there are some great moments but most of this season is character focused. First we've got Andrea (who is torn between the Atlanta survivors & Woodbury) and Carl who changes from a scary little boy always screwing up to a more resolute young man - later his methods and actions are rash and almost irresponsable. Carl is so resolute in his change that he even kills Lori (her mother after she gives birth to Judith - she was going to died so he mercied her).

Glenn & Maggie continue their relantionship and ome of his/her actions change along the series after being capture by the Governor.

Daryl change for a almost erratic and solo guy to be right hand of Rick. After his brother apperance he changes and leaves the prison. Later on, and after being with her brother for one episode he turns back to the prison.

Merle, well this character receive a good part on the series. Innitial he is the right hand of the Governor and capture Glenn and Maggie and beat the crap out of Glenn. Later on the group hates having Merle on the prison BUT it's either that or they won't get Daryl who they all love and depend.

Carol is there. I cannot say that much about her. She develops a relantionship (althought not physic with Daryl). Hershel is bitten by a zombie but Rick quick response cutting his leg saved him. He is the voice of conscious of the group - I think he substitute Dale. T-Dog was there since season one. He died bitten by a zombie after saving Carol.

If Rick is the main character (no doubt about it), both Michonne, Andrea and Daryl get the second part

Interesting Episodes/Moments
There are a lot of very disturinb moments, some I put here in photos...

- Episode 1 of Season 1 - The first episode makes the tone of this series... The part where Rick kills the zombie girl is quite sad... For a moment I almost cry for the zombie...
- Episode 2 of Season 1 - The appearance of Daryl
- Episode 3 of Season 1 - Frustated Shane beats Ed. Merle hack off hand
- Episode 4 of Season 1- The Gang that wasn't a what you think it was... Amy dies...
- Episode 5 of Season 1 - Andrea is forced to kill his sister... Arriving at CDC
- Episode 6 of Season 1 - There is no hope... Shane tries to rape Lori... Dale saves Andrea forcing her to escape when she wanted to died...

- Episode 1 of Season 2 - Sophia escapes the zombies into the forest. Most of this season is focused on that search. And Carl is shot.
- Episode 2 of Season 2 - The Farm. The new guys (Maggie, Hershel and Beth).
- Episode 3 of Season 2 - Shane shots Otis to save himself... If we all knew shane was crazy now we have the confirmation... Carl is saved.
- Episode 4 of Season 2 - Lori is pregnant... but by whom? probably Shane's....
- Episode 5 & 6 & 7 of Season 2 - Sophia is nowhere to be found... What to do. Stay in the farm or leave? Should they threat the farm owner? Sophia in the last episode is found to be in the barn alongside the other walkers Hershell didn't want to kill.... To a dismayed group only Rick steps up and mercy her.
- Episode 8 & 9 & 10 & 11 of Season 2 - Hershell realizes that he was fooling himself and drinks himself almost to dead... Dale is the only one who is against Shane... Andrea is blinded (not figuratively) by him. Rick captures a boy from another group... hostile group. Dale realizes that he is the only one (with Andrea) who is against killing the boy. Everybody else is in favor... They decide they won't kill the boy. Rick and Shane take blows with one another... the riff continues to grow... Dale is bitten by a Zombie and without hope of saving Daryl kills it... In the last episode I think it was the first time Daryl "joins" the group instead of being a rogue one... no pun intended.
- Episode 12 of Season 2 - Dale turns and tries to kill Rick but is killed by him.  Carl later kills a zombified Shane. Which unfortunally is shot draws a horde of zombies to the farm
- Episode 13 of Season 2 -  The horde invades the farm and some people died including Jimmy, Patricia & Randall... This last one was killed by Shane but turn into a zombie. Rick then tells the group, finally, that no matter how they died they will turn into zombies... As they escape and all are turning into Rick he says that if they are going to stay with him with will not be a democracy... Very interesting words...

- Episode 1 of Season 3 - Prison Cleansing... Michonne and Andrea are friends...
- Episode 2 of Season 3 - Off with his leg (Hershel's). It seems it's a way to bit the zombie plague.. Carol perfoming C Sections on walkers... Damn that was ugly..
- Episode 3 of Season 3 - The Governor appears...& Derle is back
- Episode 4 of Season 3 - Michonne is rather suspicious of The Governor. Andrea is enamoured by him. T-Dog dies...& Carl kills Lori after she gives birth to her child.  This episode was rather upsetting...
- Episode 5 to Episode 16  of Season 3 we see a rather changed Rick as he tries to cope with her wife death, the new Carl and his changing and the Governor threaten. He often sees Lori in distance...
- Episode 6 & 7 & 8  of Season 3  We see several clashes between both survivors & the reunification of brothers Merle & Daryl. Michonne is the mix of it all and she even kills a zombie girl (which is the Governor's own daughter & blind him).
- Episode 9  of Season 3 - They all leave Woodbury and The Governor becomes a crazy boy (but still with full confident of the town...) They also find new guys in the prison (Tyress & Sasha and the other survivors) Rick then turns them down expelling them from the prison...
- Episode 10  of Season 3  Was dedicated to Brothers Daryl & Merle then save Rick.
- Episode 11 of Season 3 - Andrea retunrs to her old gang and is in doubt on what to do...~
- Episode 12 of Season 3 - The return of Morgan Jones (the guy who saves Rick in the first episode and the dealings with his coping with her own son demise...) There is also an interesting hitchhiker who asks them for help two times and is ignored. When they are going back they saw him dead, killed by zombies & take his backpack with them... Cruel world...
- Episode 13 of Season 3 was really interesting. The two parts (prison and town) are sit on a table to negotiate a truce. Meanwhile outside people from both groups talk and mingle sympathizing one another. They know and talk that today they are here talking and tomorrow they might receive orders to kill one another. Very interesting perspective on War. Andrea is thoughtful.
- Episode 14 & 15 of Season 3 - Finally the Governor show is true colours and arrests Andrea. Merle do Rick dirty work by taking Michonne and exchange her for peace. Rick and the group then steps back on her intentions but by this time Merle & Michonne are already in route with the Governor. Merle in the end releases Michonne and tries to take the Governor's group single handling... He is then killed by the Governor and mercied by his own brother in a heartbreaking moment...
- Episode 16 of Season 3 - Finally the final confrontation. Andrea is bit and then commits suicide. The Governor after an failed attempt kills most his followers and escapes. Rick brings a lot of survivors to the prison. Lori visions disappear. Carl shots a young boy rather coldly after he had raised his own hands...

Anime: Spring 2017 (What am I Watching?) Part 2

$
0
0
After watching 1 or 2 episodes from each of the series I can honestly say two things... First this is not a Great season But is very well balanced. I tried 33 animes. Only 3 of them I dropped after watching one or two episodes.

Cinderella Girls Gekijou (6.57) , Love Kome: We Love Rice (4.84), Frame Arms Girl (6.09) (this one I really wanted to enjoy because it mixes loli miniatures being made by a girl and then battling one another. Unfortunally they all sucked.

So what we do have with the other 30. We've got every single genre...well almost...

It would be hard to choose 5 to watch but let me say 10 (no particular order)

- Shingeki no Kyojin (2 Season)
- Boku no Hero Academia (2 Season)
- Saenai Heroine no Sodateka (2 Season)
- Is it wrong to pick up girls in the dungeon Sword Oratoria (Side-Story)
- Quan Zhi Gao Shou  - This one is on top five no doubt. It's a chinese anime where a professional gamer is sacked and he goes to the real world trying to survive...just to find himself again in the same game. Very interesting...
- Rokudenashi Majutsu Koushi to Akashic Records -This one feels my heart like konosuba. Not as funny but very interesting... Fantasy
- Zero kara Hajimeru Mahou no Sho - Fantasy at it's best... very mature so far, no nonsense
- Shuumatsu Nani Shitemasu ka? Isogashii desu ka? Sukutte Moratte Ii desu ka? Another fantasy anime. Very interesting. Only watch one episode but sure looks great... The title is misleading..
- Renai Boukun Death Note ripoff. Funny as hell. More funny that Akashic. This one has the possibility to almost achieve the konosuba funny moments

- Tsugi Ga Kirei - Strange animation... romance. Very interesting. Slice of Life
- Sakura Quest - Another Slice of life mix with comedy (not so much comedy as the previous ones)
- Seikasuru Kado - Still don't understand what this anime about. A being appears and wants to "help" humanity. Two episodes and I don't know anything...
- Alice to Zouroku - Another sci-fi mix with action mix with super powers... Really interesting connection between our two main characters...
- Busou Shoujo Machiavellianism - Very interesting school action comic with a bit of ecchi...
- Nobunaga no Shinobi: Ise Kanegasaki-hen - Historical Comedy about Nonaga. Very cute 5m episodes. The only one this season.
- Granblue Fantasy The Animation - Another fantasy setting. It doesn't try to be as serious as Zero but it's fine.
- Fukumenkei Noise - The Fuuka of the season
- Oushitsu Kyoushi Haine - Another comedy fantasy.. First I thought it was somekind of gay thing but nope...
- Eromanga- Sensei - I don't know what to think of this anime. Looks great BUT what's its purpose? Guy writes lights novel but never met the artist who makes the drawings. Then he meets and it's his little sister... Now what? But really good animation and voices.
- Sakurada Reset - When I watched the first episode I thought of dropping out. animation was all wrong.. the story not that appealing... I thought that I should give another shot and I am glad I did... still didn't convince me it's a good anime.. but let us watch a couple more episodes...
- Sin: Nanatsu Taizai - it's a christian anime turn black. Ahaha it's the story of how lucifer fell from grace with a heavy dose of ecchi.. borderline hentai
- Clockwork Planet - was an anime that promise a lot. I really saw a lot people interested but then the first episode aired and the rating says it all 6.34. Not that interesting...
- Gin no Guardian is like Quan Zhi Gao Shou but for children.. 12m episode

- If there is anime I might drop out it's Hinako Note. A slice of life but pretty boring...
- Warau Salesman New - is an interesting anime focusing on a "man" and the way he gives his costumers his heart desire... not end well for them I am afraid..
- Kabukibu is a anime focusing on a theatre/dance/music art from medieval japan. Very interesting in terms of plot but rather weak in terms on enjoyment...
- Souryo to Majiwaru Shikiyoku no Yoru ni... I think this is hentai but okay
-Sekai no Yami Zukan is a anime like Yamishabai. It's horror stories.. 5m each episode.

- Re:Creators - Very interesting sci-fi action fantasy anime... Only watch one episode so far.

- Tsugamonono is an anime focusing on a youkai kimono girl dealing with the supernatural... let us see if it is interesting. One of those I would missing much if I didn't watch it.

There you go... 30 animes this season not giving much space to anything else...

MONTHLY UPDATE - APRIL 2017 - MOVIES, SERIES AND ANIMES

$

Well well well... Another month has passed.
Lets get to the point. It was a good way. With a ratio of 7 episodes per day what can I say unless I say it was a great month?

Well, in terms of anime I've watched 176 episodes. 28 episodes of TV Series and 7 movies. Which gives us 211. Which ties best with December of 2016 which I also watch 211 episodes BUT December has 31 days and April has 30 so...

In terms of watching time this was the best ever... 6670 minutes (give it or take)....

In terms of finished animes I only finish 3.
Sankarea: The Undying Love; Hyouka and Sengoku Choujou Giga. Why do you ask. Well mainly because I've watching Spring animes and they are around 30 or so. I must say that in the Summer animes I am going to change a bit because this doesn't give much space to watch other things. I am going to choose what to watch.

In terms of TV Series I start and finish Inside Nº9 - a TV black-comedy TV Series and Started and ended Walking Dead Season 3. I am now watching Season 4.

In terms of movies I hated watching Attack on Titan (Live Action movie) since I love the anime but they screw up. I am going to make a review in the near future. Also watched Emergo; Arrival; Pandorica; Passengers & Reclusion. Really enjoy Passengers and Arrival.

I also watched some anime mini-series & movies from the 80's and 90's. Most of them very violent and not advisable to much people. Violence Jack (3 Eps) & Devilman (3Eps) are quite nasty. Particular Devilman... very hard to watch...

Also watch Gunn (Battle Angel Alita). Very sad anime. James Cameron has the rights to do a movie BUT I don't know how he will do it without the gore but that would be something to watch. Also watch Jin-Roh: the Wolf Brigade another sad anime and Hoshi no Koe - another (as all of this I mention) very sad anime... The 80's/90's really made some sad animes. If you ended any of this animes with a smile you are probably very disturbed.
